1. Brush and Floss Regularly

4. Drink Plenty of Water

Your saliva fights disease in your mouth, and drinking plenty of water helps the creation of healthy saliva. Swishing water around your mouth will also assist in washing out harmful bacteria, so water is a double-win for preventing gum disease.

5. Get a Check-Up Every 6 Months

Getting a check-up and a good hygiene cleaning for your teeth every so often will allow you (and your gums) to start fresh. Visit your dentist for a check-up, and they’ll be able to inform you of your progress, and perform preventative cleaning for gum disease.
